MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming. Using MATLAB, you can analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models and applications. The language, tools, and built-in math functions enable you to explore multiple approaches and reach a solution faster than with spreadsheets or traditional programming languages, such as C/C++ or Java.

Get started
- In order to use MATLAB at home or in an 色聚 computer lab, you first need to create a free MathWorks account with your 色聚 email address. Instructions here.
Where to get it
- Available in all ITS computer labs and in the Monarch Virtual Environment () General Lab pool, College of Sciences pool, and Engineering pool.
- On 色聚-managed computers, download the software from the Company Portal听(Windows) or Jamf Self Service (Mac).
- Faculty, staff and students can download and install MATLAB for home use. Instructions . (Must log in with MIDAS ID and password.)
